2012 Chrysler Town & Country Minivan

As I enter my second hour of waiting for my minivan to be fixed, my fingers continue to cramp from the cold in this dealership. I have come to the conclusion that they make it cold because they don't want you to wait for your car - they prefer you leave and come back later so they don't have to look you in the eye while you wait. I am further convinced of this as I sit here and listen to the service advisor try to get people to go by saying things like "are you sure you want to wait, we could drive you home?"

I am here for an oil change and a recall for a transmission module. I have asked them to check the rotors because they feel warped. Upon saying this, the service advisor raised his eyebrow as if to say "oh really". I have also been having some trouble with the passenger sliding door. It seems that the inside plastic on the door is rubbing on the outside of the quarter panel on the wheel well edge. I found thousands of reports of this online from other owners but the service advisor looked me in the eye and said "I've never heard of that. Are you sure someone didn't scrape your car?".......ummm yeah, I'm sure. You can't slip a piece of paper between the open door and the body - AND there is a mark on the inside that shows where they rub together.

I am tired of service advisors not taking me (or many women) seriously. I actually work in the auto industry. I am part owners of an automotive inspection company. One of the services we provide is warranty inspections - this is when your car goes in for a warranty covered repair and the warranty company sends a company like us in to verify the repair is needed and that the proper parts were put in place for the repair. It's a way of policing the dealership or shop, while also protecting the warranty company. So it's people like me who look over the dealer's shoulders. I happen to know what I'm talking about. Since I'm not about to introduce myself on a business level to these people, I guess I have to suffer the attitudes of the service advisor.

Have you ever been shot down by a service advisor? What did you do in return?

Finally feeling productive!

Have you ever had one of those days where you have managed to get through most of your to-do list and you look at the clock add see that somehow there's still so much time in the day left? I was lucky enough to have a day like that two days ago, and it felt so good that I am still holding on to it!

I dropped my daughter to school, put gas in my car, went to Restaurant Depot to buy supplies to make dog food, stopped at the post office to mail two packages, went to Dunkin Donuts for coffee and got home with plenty of time to start cooking and begin cutting fabric for a dress for my daughter and her doll. All before picking her up from school - and she has a HALF day. Days like this make me spend my next week trying to duplicate them, always failing. I guess I should just learn to embrace that day and let it go when it's over, but I can't.

In future posts, I will give you information on my homemade dog food, sewing tips and nightmare stories, canning recipes and more! I hope you enjoy your time here as things get rolling.
